Japanese government [MEXT] scholarships

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) administers a Japanese government scholarship program for international students in order to provide outstanding international students with opportunities to study in Japan.
There are two ways to apply for the scholarships: embassy recommendation, and university recommendation. Note that there are very few slots available in all three categories, and selection processes are very competitive. For detailed application guidelines, please refer to the MEXT website.
