Tokyo Metropolitan University established its Bangkok Office in April 2014 as a base for education and research activities in the ASEAN region. The ASEAN countries have seen high economic development, collectively drawing attention as one of the world’s growth centers. The goal of the office is to increase TMU’s presence in the region by promoting international partnerships through cooperative education, collaborative research, industry-academia collaboration and the joint organization of international symposiums with higher education institutions and the like in Thailand and other ASEAN regions. The Office also carries out public relations activities to attract excellent international students from the region, follows up with international students after they return home, and more.
